JAKARTA, PINUSPRESS – Indonesian Commision of Corruption Eradication (KPK) has captured the regent of Bekasi, West of Java. The corruption case that is said to reach the value of 13 billion rupiahs has involved the government of Bekasi and Lippo Karawaci. The 13 billion rupiahs is a bribe that is given to the government as a stimulus for a construction project of Meikarta that is built under PT MSU (Mahkota Sentosa Utama).
Moreover, they have also called other 33 witnesses to give statements about the project. In these 33 people, they also called the president and vice president of Lippo Cikarang, Toto Bartholomeus as well as Ketut Budy Wijaya, respectively.
Until now, the Indonesian police has put the regent of Bekasi Neneng Hassanah Yasin and the Operational Director of Lippo Group, Billy Sindiro as suspects. They are using the bribe money to speed up the process of getting the license of the use of the land. By using this money, PT MSU can use the land already to expand their project.
However, despite the company being entangled with a corruption case, PT MSU has promised the customers that they will not stop the progress of construction of the apartment in Cikarang to fulfil the demand of the customers that has agreed to utilize the apartments between end of 2019 and beginning of 2020.
“Therefore, we can still continue and finish the Meikarta project in Cikarang because it is a separate case from the one in the verdict. We have promised the customers to finish them as soon as possible.” said by Denny Indrayana, the attorney of PT MSU.
Untll now, under the progress of investigation, KPK has found out that despite the agreement reaches 13 billion, only 7 billions have actually been in transfer, leaving 6 billions behind that would be transferred at the end of the project.
